Allam hails intellectuals' efforts in T struggle

Telangana Press Academy Chairman Allam Narayana said there were limitations with regard to democracy even in the newly formed Telanana state and observed that barbed fence existing still at Osmania University campus was any indication to it.

Addressing at a meeting here in Nirmal after releasing the book ‘Damera Kavitha Sarvaswam’ written by Dr. Damera Ramulu, Mr Narayana said there were instances of invoking Section.144 on OU campus.

He said there would be no meaning in Telangana state if there was no space for fundamental rights and freedom of expression and people of the Telangana will definitely fight for better Telangana.

He said the land of Telangana itself has an inherent quality of revolting against the injustice and for equality.

Mr Narayana showered encomiums on all singers, writers and intellectuals of Telangana for their sacrifices and contribution in achieving separate state.

Telangana Rachayithala Vedika former president Jukanti Jagannatham criticized the state government for not sanctioning funds to control the fevers in the Agency due to which a large number of Adivasis were affected, instead sanctioning Rs 25 Crore funds to develop the Jodeghat as Tourism post.
