Modified Direct Benefit Transfer from November 15

The Central government will implement modified ‘DBTL’ (Direct Benefit Transfer for LPG) from November 15 in 52 districts, including Adilabad, in the country.
The central government has come out with the MDBTL making some minor changes in the DBTL. Under the modified DBTL, consumers need not have Aadhaar number. It will be sufficient if they can provide their bank account number.

The amount of subsidy being given to the LPG by the central government will be transferred into the bank account of the consumer but initially, the consumer has to purchase the cylinder at the price fixed without subsidy.

The best practices adopted in Aadhaar seeding, with the LPG connection and bank account, in Adilabad of Telangana and East Godavari of Andhra Pradesh will be replicated in other districts in the country.
These two districts have gained the distinction of achieving highest seeding in the country. Adilabad has the distinction of achieving 92 per cent LPG connections seeding with Aadhaar and 72 percent seeding with bank accounts and it is the best performance as far as Aadhaar seeding is concerned in the country.
Recently, petroleum companies held a meeting with the gas agencies and instructed them to be ready to implement the MDBTL. However, the LPG cylinder price, excluding the subsidy amount, would be announced before the launching date. Under the MDBTL, the gas agencies will seed the consumers’ gas connection numbers with their bank accounts, if they do not have Aadhaar card.

Owner of a gas agency in Adilabad said they have received information from the petroleum companies that the Centre will implement the Modified DBTL from November 15.

People faced a lot of trouble in getting the reimbursement due to incomplete Aadhaar seeding earlier. They stood in queues but could not get cards.
