'Ballot is more powerful than bullet' : Nayani

Minister for home and fire services Nayani Narasimha Reddy on Monday said ballot is more powerful than the bullet and this has been proved many times in democracy and added that bullets can hardly kill 20-100 members but state can’t be captured with bullets.

But power can be captured only with the ballot through a silent revolution like in the recent Bihar elections.

Speaking after inaugurating the new police station building at Sirpur (U) which was blasted and killed 13 policemen by Naxalites in 1996, Home Minister said Nitish Kumar achieved hattrick and the same results will be repeated in Warangal bi-elections.

Narasimha Reddy said state government has allotted Rs 350 core for modernization of police stations and strengthen the police system by procuring advanced technologies in the state. He promised to allocate more budget for police welfare, to create facilities and other activities in the next state budget and said facilities for police will be improved in the tribal areas in the coming days.

Nayani Narsimha Reddy promised to release the funds for the construction of the police quarters near police stations in the interior areas when Asifabad MLA Kova Laxmi and SP Dr Tarun Joshi requested him for the same. He said government will survive only with good administration and that can be provided by the police department. Things are improving with lodged complaints being uploaded online by the police.

He said actually the need of police stations will not arise if people maintain goodness but need for the police stations has surface due to people’s inability to resolve small problems which eventually led to major differences.
